Currently, the MBA is only planning to host the PNA webinar on October 13 & 14, 2026. A list of all other PNA dates from other organizations can be found at nccle.org. The MBA also hosts a spring PNA in May- dates for the 2027 spring PNA will be announced after the new year. Do I have to be an MBA Member to take the MBA PNA program?  No, anyone can attend; however, MBA Members receive a discounted registration rate. When is the deadline to take PNA? You must complete PNA during your first CLE reporting period. Attorneys licensed in NC in 2025 must complete their CLE requirements by February 28, 2027.  Attorneys licensed in NC in 2026 must complete their CLE requirements by February 28, 2028. I passed the Bar but haven’t been sworn in yet – can I still take PNA? Yes, you can still take PNA. Additionally, the 26th Judicial District Bar will host a Swearing-In Ceremony on October 8. Registration and more information on our upcoming Swearing-In can be found here. How do I qualify for the MBA First Year Member rate?  If your mailing address on file with the NC State Bar is in the 26th Judicial District (Mecklenburg County), you are eligible for complimentary MBA membership through the end of the current fiscal year, June 30, 2027. There is nothing you need to do to sign up. Once the NC State Bar adds you to its database and you receive your NC State Bar number, our staff will add you to the MBA membership system. You will then receive a welcome email from us with information about your membership. Once your MBA membership is active, you can register for PNA through October 12 at 5 p.m. (the day before the event). I have been practicing in another state – do I still need to take PNA? Per the NC State Bar, if you were licensed in another state for at least 5 years, you are exempt from the PNA requirement. However, you must notify the State Bar of the exemption. Who do I contact with other questions?
